In partnership with Dr Suzanne Zeedyk, bringing the science of attachment to everyday life. Our Daring Ventures programme is a series of 5 sessions which brings an understanding of ‘The Science of Attachment’.
We will explore different theories, concepts and ideas on how ‘Attachment’ is fundamentally core to how we live our everyday lives – whether that’s at work, at home or just walking down the street.
Topics we will explore: ‘Concepts of Attachment.
Rupture-Repair Cycle
What happens when things go wrong in relationships? The Rupture-Repair Cycle helps us to see that all relationships have messy moments and that we don’t need to be afraid of them. Resilience is built by going from rupture to repair.
Emotional Regulation
How do we comfort ourselves in the midst of big emotions? Understanding the biological basis of emotional
states is very helpful in conducting healthy relationships, because we are better able to take care of ourselves and others.
Attachment Styles
Understanding your own attachment style helps you identify where you experience anxiety in relationships.
That anxiety impacts on our capacity to trust, the way we behave and the way we make sense of others’ behaviour.
Emotional Boundaries
What are boundaries and why are they challenging? Having healthy boundaries makes relationships easier and more straightforward. However, they can be surprisingly hard to set. Recognising the connection between adult anxieties and childhood attachment experiences is a very helpful start.

Containment
How do we hold (contain) the emotional impact of life experiences for others to become a ‘secure base’ and a source of emotional co-regulation, at the same time as managing our own self-care and emotional wellness.
